The DS3231M RTC breakout board comes assembled, but without headers soldered on. One 4-pin female header as well as a male header strip is included, so the you can configure it as you please.

There are two TWI/I2C headers. If you do not plan to use other TWI/I2C devices together with the board, you can leave one unconnected.

There are also three extra connectors, that you can connect as you please. These are for 32KHz oscillator output, 1Hz/Alarm interrupt output and reset respectively.

Installing headers

You can attach headers as you please. We recommend this configuration:

You can leave the second TWI/I2C header unconnected if you do not plan to daisy-chain devices.

Installing the battery

Push the battery in carefully, + side facing up.
